About SPIN National
A national initiative for a food-secure and agriculturally robust Nigeria.
The National Vision
The Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) project is a flagship initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, supported by the World Bank. It is designed to address critical challenges in the agricultural sector by improving access to irrigation and drainage services, enhancing dam safety, and strengthening the institutional and policy framework for integrated water resource management.
By focusing on the rehabilitation and modernization of key water infrastructure, SPIN aims to unlock Nigeria's vast agricultural potential, create economic opportunities for millions of Nigerians, and build a more resilient and sustainable food system for the future. The project operates across several key states, with Kano being a pivotal area of implementation due to its agricultural significance.
